August 2: Share A Meal with Your Neighbors on America's National Night Out!
The National Night Out is held every August, and was actually devised as a friendly protest against crime. The objective is to get people in neighborhoods to enjoy a meal together. One of the best ways to make it an enjoyable night for all is to devise a barbecue, and to ensure you're creative with finger foods for a party. You might decide to make mini pizzas, coat some mushrooms in breadcrumbs, or get creative with party food recipes by making miniaturized versions of your favorite dishes.
Make sure you don't forget to save a portion for the local police academy!
To make it a fun night, you could encourage each guest to bring a course. This can then be rated by the other cooks in secret. If everybody chips in $5, there could be an engaging competition to see who rustled up the best food.
