June 12: Celebrate Love this Summer on Dia dos Namorados

Is February 14 not enough to celebrate love this year? Give Dia dos Namorados a try.  Celebrated in Brazil, translations for this holiday include Lover's Day, Day of the Enamored, and Boyfriends'/Girlfriends' Day. Celebrated similarly to February 14 in the U.S., it is a day to celebrate a loving partnership with gifts, romantic gestures, and festivities.  It lands on St. Anthony's Day Eve, which commemorates the saint who blessed young couples.

Brazilians do not celebrate February 14 as it is falls during their carnival. Many singles are known to escape to Brazil during Valentine's Day for that reason. Perhaps you would enjoy a second day to celebrate love or a new love arose since February 14. No matter your reason for indulging in the holiday of another culture, good food is a great way to honor the love in your life. Try these quick and easy dinner recipes from our Dishfolio food bloggers today and celebrate love this summer!
