August 18: Celebrate a Summer New Year's Day on Jamshedi Noruz (Shenshai)!

Acknowledge the spring of another hemisphere! Jamshedi Noruz (Shenshai) is the Zoroastrian New Year celebration and spring equinox. The seventh feast of the year, the day is dedicated to fire. Even after embracing Islam, Iran still celebrates this day by lighting fires, hosting feasts, and featuring celebrations with fireworks. The original religious connotations are gone but not the joy of this day.

Even though our hemisphere is in the heat of summer, we can still enjoy this day as a chance to try online food recipes featuring Persian influence. Food from this region is known for excellent flavor and lovely presentation that creates beautiful food photography, as seen by the work of Dishfolio food photographers. Using fresh green herbs, sweet fruits, and rice with meat, Persian cuisine features balanced flavoring using saffron, cinnamon, parsley and dried limes. You are guaranteed to enjoy these unique combinations!
