November 13: Join Diwali in India with Flavorful Indian Cuisine

Diwali is an Indian celebration that is also known as the festival of light. This five day Hindu festival is complemented by a number of festivities and performances, and also some of the biggest feasts and greatest treats that India has to offer.

India may not be incredibly well known for its desserts, but there are some really sweet dessert dishes on Dishfolio as well as other savory Indian food recipes. Of course, some of the most popular foods that are cooked up on Diwali are curries, with one particularly popular curry being lamb and sweet potato, which is less focused on pure spice and is designed to be a little sweeter. For those who enjoy a sweet tooth, coconut barfis are also easy to make. These are Indian sweets that are decorated with coconut and cardamom.

There are also recipes for masala dishes, onion bhajias, fish balls in masala and seafood dishes. So, when the festival of light next comes around, you'll know how to cook Indian food!
