Celebrate Indian Independence Day on August 15 with Indian Cuisine

Here at Dishfolio, we love to make our celebrations extra-special by preparing delicious food, and India's Independence Day is no exception. Indian cooking is uses a rich variety of spices, which you can see on any Indian restaurant menu. It is thought that Indian cuisine started to spread across the world with the spice trade, which began in the early 15th century.

Today, Indian cuisine is enjoyed by people all over the world, and has proved to be extremely popular. For instance, in Britain, chicken tikka masala has been called a "true British national dish" because it is enjoyed so widely in restaurants, takeaways and home cooking.

Did you know that India doesn't have one national dish, because its culinary heritage and culture is so rich? The rich colors and the variety of textures seen in Indian cuisine make it the perfect subject for beautiful food photography.
