Here at Dishfolio, we don't need an excuse to enjoy delicious, nutritious peaches! But "Eat a Peach Day" is the perfect time to buy peaches if you've never had one before. Peaches originated in China and have been grown and harvested there since around 2,000 BCE. They were often seen as luxurious fruits and were enjoyed by the highest people of society.

Today, peaches are grown in many countries, although they have very specific temperature requirements so are not as widely grown as other fruits. They are mainly grown in China, Iran, and countries on the Mediterranean Sea such as France and Spain.

Did you know that the wood from the peach tree was thought to ward off evil spirits in ancient China? The sweet, juicy nature of peaches makes them ideal for cakes and desserts, and you can find lots of online food recipes for dishes that use peaches.
