August 23: Enjoy Waffles All-Day on National Waffles Day!

If you're looking for the ultimate comfort food, then the waffle is your best bet. However, we at Dishfolio were surprised to find that waffles have been around for over 1000 years! The prototype of the modern waffle was something called a "wafer iron", which was eaten in the 9th and 10th centuries in Belgium and France.

Since then, waffles have become very popular. There are lots of recipes claiming to make the best waffle mix ever, and you can buy waffles from supermarkets and street vendors all over the globe. You can also buy waffle-making machines, which you fill with dough in order to make your own waffles.
